Jerry Sizemore - Class of 1969
Famous for:
After leaving Plainview High School, Sizemore attended the University of Texas where he became a consensus All-American in 1971 and 72. From there, Sizemore was drafted in the first round of the 1973 draft (No. 3 overall) by the Philadelphia Eagles and would go on to earn recognition as one of the game's premier offensive tackles as he was the cornerstone of an elite Eagle offensive line, starting 127 consecutive games and being named to the Pro Bowl in 1979 and 1981. He is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and was inducted into the Eagles Honor Roll in 1991.
Lawrence McCutcheon - Class of 1968
Famous for:
a former American football running back for the Los Angeles Rams from 1972-1980, the Denver Broncos & Seattle Seahawks in 1980 and finished his playing career in 1981 with the Buffalo Bills, reuniting with his former Rams coach Chuck Knox.
McCutcheon was selected in the third Round of the 1972 NFL Draft by the Rams out of Colorado State University, 70th overall. He appeared in 89 games for the Rams, appearing in seven playoff games including Super Bowl XIV. In 1975 McCutcheon established a Postseason record by rushing for 202 yards on 37 carries in a playoff game against the St. Louis Cardinals.
McCutcheon led the Rams in rushing for 5 consecutive seasons from 1973-1977 and was named to the Pro Bowl following each year. During his tenure with the Rams, McCutcheon gained 6,186 yards on 1,425 carries. In addition to his 5 consecutive Pro Bowl appearances, McCutcheon was named 2nd team All-Pro in 1974, All-NFC in 1977 & 2nd Team All-NFC in 1973, 1975 & 1976.
In the 1980 Super Bowl, McCutcheon threw a 24-yard touchdown pass to Ron Smith, giving the Rams a 19-17 lead over the powerful Pittsburgh Steelers.
He was the Rams' MVP for 1974 and 1977.
McCutcheon was promoted to director of player personnel of the Rams in May 2003. He's spent 32 years as a Ram.
His son, Daylon McCutcheon, played cornerback for the Cleveland Browns.
